Learning is highly valued and there are many opportunities for professional development.Your role at St John of God Midland HospitalAs an Occupational Therapist you will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical occupational therapy services to clients/patients using evidence based clinical practice skills. Ensure practice is in accordance with Occupational Therapy Australia Code of Ethics and SJGHC policies and guidelines. The PositionProvide direct occupational therapy services to clients/patients and or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and outpatients. Completion of comprehensive patient assessment (e.g. assessment of personal care, domestic and community ADLs, assessment of the home environment, cognitive and functional physical assessment as required).Provision of a comprehensive treatment intervention and appropriate progression treatment to match functional goals.Accepts responsibility for maintaining and strengthening own professional knowledge and expertise. Maintenance of own continuing professional development portfolio as required.Provide consultation and support to medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the Division as appropriate.Supervise, instruct and assess students in approved clinical teaching programs in liaison with the Supervisor/Manager.You will hold a tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Australian Health Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with demonstrated knowledge and skills in assessment, treatment and evaluation within the Occupational Therapy practice. A current driver's license is essential.To succeed you will demonstrate effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (including ability to communicate using technology).
