Based in the Burwood area in Sydney's Inner West, our client is a long established, highly reputable community care organisation, servicing a local client base from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join their newly formed Allied Health team in the position of Occupational Therapist.
The Role
Your role will focus on conducting initial and ongoing client assessments within their homes, delivering strategies, guidance and solutions to enhance their mobility, independence and wellbeing. This will include:
- Prescribing equipment and recommendations, and provision of ongoing therapy support for clients
- Reporting on outcomes and recommendations
- Promoting health and wellness solutions and supporting optimal mental and physical outcomes for clients
- Liaising with clients, their families, referrers, doctors and other allied health professionals to achieve client goals
- Monitoring client hours of service against agreed Participant Service Funding Agreements, e.g., NDIS, HCP etc.
- Maintaining accurate medical and statistical records
In order to succeed in this role, you will require the following:
- Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRA
- 2+ years experience in an Occupational Therapy role
- Experience working with aged clients / people living with disabilities
- Ability to assess client’s needs, set goals, and develop associated treatment plans
- Ability to identify and address individual structured and environmental risks
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Access to own vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
