If you are keen to join a team of friendly, enthusiastic and diverse Occupational Therapists and speech pathologists, who are united by their shared values, we could well be the team for you! Spot is a neurodiversity affirming, airway focused practice. We utilize relationship-based therapy approaches and we believe understanding identity is the key to meaningful occupation and well-being.
Spot Therapy Hub was founded by dual qualified Director, Kate Broderick. It's been a Hub of friendship and professional development for Occupational Therapists at various stages in their career, for over 20 years. We welcome experienced therapists and new graduates, who can expect support with lots of early career PD, and weekly supervision. We are an inclusive workplace & celebrate diversity amongst our team. We are always listening and working hard to support your flourishing as a person (because work is a meaningful occupation that should support our own well-being).
Spot supports a mix of private clients and NDIS participants, and while we are a predominantly paediatric service, we do support young adults and some adults in other life stages if their goals align with our team's experience. Our OTs work very closely with Spot's Speechies so that we can target goals including shared attention, regulation, communication (including AAC) and life skills, with a robust integrated approach.
Spot has always been known for its strong interest in learning disabilities, so clinicians who have (or would like to develop) experience in supporting students with Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia, are welcomed! These profiles go hand in hand with ADD/ADHD, and we're passionate about supporting neurodivergent people throughout the lifespan.
Spot Occupational Therapists are always exercising their core skills (for example, helping clients with fine and gross motor skill development, school readiness, handwriting, visual perception and self care). We take pride in offering neuro-affirming Functional Capacity Assessments.
All Spot staff have weekly supervision and weekly mentoring huddles, with more support available to early career clinicians. We have a strong ethic towards professional development, with approximately 8 days per year set aside for Professional Development, personal development and team bonding. We have an internal training platform, full or resources as well.
With our fantastic HR system, everybody has a clear idea of what they can do to develop, and new team members can make a plan for career progression that they feel excited about.
