About the role
Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg is currently seeking experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Therapiststo join the team either a part-time, casual or full-time capacity, including being able to accommodate hours to align with school hours if required.
You will work closely with Allied Health and Nursing teams to deliver services to a variety of patients including Rehabilitation, Orthopaedic, Medical and Surgical patients.
Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg has been caring for the people of Bundaberg and surrounds since 1946. Our 59-bed facility is dedicated to supporting our community to live happy and healthy lives. The hospital is equipped with four operating theatres, a day surgery unit and offers a full complement of medical specialist services.
Salary range: $37.13 - $56.12 (Health Professional Level 3) per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging of up to $15900 per annum.
What you’ll be doing
Key tasks will include:
- Independently undertake routine clinical practice within established clinical protocols to achieve patient focussed outcomes
- Apply increasing clinical judgement to more complex cases under clinical practice supervision
- Provide delegation, supervision, training and support to less experienced health practitioners, allied health assistants, students, support staff and volunteers in the delivery of clinical services
- Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within professional and multidisciplinary teams
- Identify, develop and participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve clinical services and patient outcomes
- Actively participate in translating research into practice
- Actively participate in professional and multidisciplinary teams, and liaise with patients, their families/carers and external agencies to facilitate patient centred care
- Participate in continuing professional development activities to further develop clinical practice and expertise
- Contribute to the learning and development of the team through clinical education and clinical supervision
About you
To be successful in your application, you will have:
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or Master of Occupational Therapy.
- Eligible for registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Eligibility to receive a Medicare provider number.
- Demonstrated knowledge, expertise, and skill in delivering assessment and intervention in the acute clinical area of occupational therapy.
- Demonstrated ability to apply occupational therapy skills to clinical services in the acute hospital environment
- Demonstrated clinical practice and application of clinical judgement in the provision of high quality, evidence based, patient centred care.
- It is desirable that the successful candidate holds a current driver licence
