We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Chronic and Complex Care Service. The Senior Occupational Therapist (Level 3) has a responsibility in leading the provision of Occupational Therapy services to patients within the Enhanced Community Palliative Care and Heart Lung Chronic Care Service. This role will support advanced care planning, chronic disease management, care co-ordination.
This position has professional leadership and coordination responsibilities within the Community Palliative Care and Heart Lung Chronic Care Service. This includes the management of standards of professional practice and ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient and effective patient care. Aim of the service will include out of hours support to keep the patient at home and avoid hospital admissions.
The Senior Occupational Therapist represents Occupational Therapy and provides advice to the Nurse Manager for Chronic and Complex Care Service and the Occupational Therapy Manager on clinical service delivery, practice and redesign and assists the service managers in developing clinical services in response to demand and client needs.
The service operates Monday- Friday. Days of work will be discussed at time of interview.

Selection Criteria:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
2. Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy and Current Australian Occupational Therapy Registration (AHPRA)
3. Extensive postgraduate Occupational Therapy clinical experience with significant involvement in one or more in the following areas: Palliative Care, Haematology/Oncology, Motor Neuron Diseases, COPD, Transplant or other life-limiting illness.
4. Well-developed communication and negotiation skills, including verbal, written and multidisciplinary liaison.
5. Experience in clinical management including service planning and conducting quality improvement projects
6. Experience in teaching and consultation in related clinical areas.
7. Current unrestricted NSW Class C Driver’s License
