Minda’s Therapy Services team is currently undertaking an exciting transformation of its services and infrastructure, to further establish its brand as a contemporary leader in the provision of person-centred services to clients living with intellectual and physical disability.
Recent growth in demand for herapy Services has led to the creation of a new role for an experienced Occupational Therapist to work on a part time or full-time basis. The Occupational Therapist provides onsite and in home assessments and support, to ensure Minda clients maximise their physical potential, and overall wellbeing.
Responsibilities:
- Manage own case load using evidence-based client centred assessment, clinical management, and interventions to support clients with a range of cognitive, psycho-social, and physical disabilities.
- Prescribe assistive technologies and recommend home modifications to maximise client independence and physical capacity.
- Provide ADL and functional capacity assessments and recommend interventions.
- Maintain an up to date understanding of NDIS and DSOA legislation and regulations, and participate in health education and promotions.
Essential Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy & practical experience in a disability or similar setting.
- Knowledge and experience in assistive technologies and home modification practices.
- Well-developed written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to produce high quality client reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, and to demonstrate empathy and understanding of client needs with increasingly complex co-morbidities.
Other:
- NDIS worker clearance.
- Current unrestricted SA drivers’ licence.
