Overview
Older Persons Mental Health Clinician (OPMHC) applies clinical experience, specialised knowledge and professional judgment to plan, implement and evaluate a comprehensive and integrated range of Mental Health services, appropriate to the needs of the local community. The OPMHC works under limited supervision, co-manage complex cases with other Mental Health workers, and may provide direction to less experienced professional officers, para professionals and students working within a recovery framework in Mental Health. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, including health professionals and service providers from other sectors, the OPMHC utilises a combination of preventative, early intervention and treatment / therapy based approaches to ensure good clinical outcomes are achieved by our consumer group.
