Exciting opportunities for experienced Oncology Nurses to join a dynamic and growing clinical research and cancer care team.
Full time positions available (part time/casual EOIs also welcomed).
One Clinical Research (OCR)
OCR is a leader in conducting cancer clinical research, specialising in pharmaceutical industry-sponsored clinical trials of new medical therapies for patients with haematological (blood) and solid-organ cancers, and other chronic diseases.
The successful candidate(s) will primarily be responsible for delivering patient-centered, compassionate oncology clinical care for patients enrolled in clinical trials, spanning Phase I first-in-human clinical trials through to Phase III randomised trials.
The role will focus on performing clinical nursing procedures (e.g. vitals, ECGs, parenteral drug administration, and the recording of medical history, concomitant medications and adverse events) in accordance with institutional SOPs and approved clinical trial protocols. Additionally, the successful candidate(s) will provide general nursing assessments and care to cancer patients, education and support to patients/carers/family and liaise closely with the treating consultant physicians and clinical research team.
The successful candidate(s) will join a close-knit and dedicated team passionate about optimising cancer care and patient outcomes in an innovative and progressive private clinical trial setting, engaging with various stakeholders to ensure high-quality and efficiently conducted clinical trials and helping to advance access to ground breaking treatments for those with cancer.
Essential Criteria:
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration;
- Current knowledge/skills in educating and performing clinical assessments of participants (e.g. vitals, ECG, venepuncture, cannulation and parenteral drug administration);
- Competent and proficient at administering and handling chemotherapy (including cytotoxic agents);
- Proficiency in managing CVADs;
- Demonstrated planning and workload management skills and the ability to work autonomously;
- Demonstrated experience with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
- High attention to detail, with excellent oral and written communication skills; and
- Proficiency in liaising with a variety of health and research professionals
Desirable (Non-Essential) Criteria:
- Experience working in a clinical trial environment (highly regarded, but not essential);
- Demonstrated understanding of ICH-Good Clinical Practice, regulatory, ethical, privacy and other relevant guidelines and legislation relating to clinical trial conduct
