Job description

Job Summary:

The Merchandising & Optimisation Specialist is responsible for optimising product listings on our websites and marketplaces to maximise sales and enhance user experience. This role will focus on search functionality, implement SEO strategies, drive Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) initiatives, and ensure enhanced content and User Experience (UX).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product Listing Management:
    • Create, update, and optimize product listings to ensure accuracy, relevancy, and appeal.
    • Implement strategies to improve product discoverability and conversion rates.
  2. Algolia Search Functionality:
    • Manage and optimize the use of Algolia to enhance search functionality on the website.
    • Conduct regular audits and analyses to ensure search results are relevant and effective.
    • Collaborate with the development team to implement improvements and new features.
  3. SEO:
    • Develop and execute SEO strategies to increase organic traffic and improve search engine rankings.
    • Conduct keyword research and integrate SEO best practices into product listings and web content.
    • Monitor and analyse website traffic and SEO performance using tools like Google Analytics and Search Console.
  4. Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO):
    • Identify areas of improvement in the user journey and implement strategies to increase conversion rates.
    • Conduct A/B testing and analyse results to inform optimization efforts.
    • Work closely with the design and development teams to implement CRO recommendations.
  5. Enhanced Content & User Experience (UX):
    • Ensure all product listings and web content are visually appealing, informative, and aligned with brand guidelines.
    • Collaborate with the design team to create engaging and high-quality content that enhances the user experience.
    • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and make data-driven decisions.
  6. Performance Analysis & Reporting:
    • Monitor and report on key performance metrics related to product listings, search functionality, SEO, and CRO.
    • Provide regular updates and actionable insights to stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
  7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with marketing, design, development, and customer service teams to ensure cohesive and effective e-commerce strategies.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to keep the website competitive and user-friendly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, E-commerce, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in e-commerce merchandising, SEO, CRO, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and best practices.
  • Experience with Algolia or similar search functionality tools.
  • Proficiency in web analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing and CRO methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for design and user experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with e-commerce platforms like Shopify, Magento, or WooCommerce.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic web development principles.
  • Certification in Google Analytics or similar tools.
