Gymea Bay Care & Leisure Centre (GBOOSH) is a not-for-profit community based Centre providing care for 5-12 year olds in Before School, After School & Vacation Care. We are looking for Educators with some experience working with children and families, as well as students who have completed their first year of study in teaching or related field.
Essential Criteria
- Experience working with children, preferably in a formal Child Care setting or similar environment.
- Valid Working with Children check number.
- Current approved First Aid Certificate for working in a care environment (or willing to obtain).
- Understanding of Child Protection legislation (or willing to undertake training).
- Strong communication skills, both oral & written.
- An understanding of the duty of care, supervision and risk management responsibilities of working in a care environment.
Desirable Criteria (but not essential):
- Currently studying Certificate III, IV or Diploma in School Age or Early Education & Care or university degree in field relating to working with families/children.
- A knowledge of the National Quality Framework, including My Time, Our Place & National Regulations.
- Experience in implementing & evaluating developmentally appropriate, stimulating program in theChild Care/OOSH industry.
As an Educator you will be engaging with and caring for school aged children in our service located on the grounds of Gymea Bay Public School.

This is the perfect role for those looking to gain experience working with children and their families in a fun and engaging environment. Split shift and flexibility of hours is ideal for candidates studying at TAFE or university.
Hours are negotiated with candidates and rostered based on individual availability, with an expectation to be available a minimum of 2 shifts per week, Monday - Thursday (between the hours of 2pm - 6pm). Various hours also availble during Vacation Care.

Salary conditions are subject to negotiation with each candidate based on skills and knowledge.Training and inductions to commence ASAP!
