About the Role:

As an OCE, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and efficient operation of our clients Open Cut Mine located in the Bowen Basin.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting regular examinations of the mine's open-cut areas, assessing potential hazards, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations
• Providing expert advice and guidance to mine Operators and Supervisors regarding safe and effective mining practices
• Identifying and implementing strategies to optimise productivity and minimise risks in collaboration with the mining team
• Conducting inspections of equipment, machinery, and infrastructure to ensure they are in proper working condition
• Participate in accident investigations
• Assist in safety training programs
• Maintain accurate safety records and reports
• Foster positive communication and collaboration with stakeholders
• Drive continuous improvement through process enhancements and safety initiatives

Mandatory qualifications:

• Open Cut Examiners Certificate of Competency (QLD)
• Knowledge of statutory laws and regulations governing Open Cut coal mining.
• Current First Aid Certificate (including CPR)
• G1-G8-G9 (S123 Supervisor, G2 accreditations)
• G2 Risk Facilitator
