ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Bass Coast region is a destination of choice for both residents and visitors alike, offering a beautiful coastal environment that is cherished by many. To ensure the area remains pristine, our dedicated Infrastructure Maintenance team works diligently to maintain our Open Spaces for everyone to enjoy.
A typical day in this role might see you undertaking tasks such as:
- Conducting maintenance and routine inspections of Open Space playgrounds
- Inspecting, maintaining, and renewing Open Space infrastructure assets
- Carrying out landscaping and garden maintenance
- Performing Open Space Maintenance tasks, including chemical application, litter management, chainsaw work, building and furniture maintenance.
- Responding to customer enquiries.
We are currently seeking someone to work in this role on a full-time permanent basis. You will be primarily based out of the Wonthaggi and Cowes Depots but may be required to work from various locations across the municipality. The standard full-time hours for this role are 7:00am - 4:00pm, which includes one day off per fortnight.
HOW TO BE A SUCCESS:
If you have experience and knowledge working across Horticulture, Arboriculture and Open Space practices and enjoy working as part of a team to achieve great outcomes, this could be the position for you.
You will need to be comfortable communicating with a range of stakeholders including internal staff, contractors and members of the public, and be able to follow instructions to complete works within a given timeframe.
You will need a current driving licence for this role.
