Purpose of Role:
Use your mechatronics skills to develop technologies to support manned and automated equipment by implementing smart manufacturing systems and industry 4.0 technology to shape the future of manufacturing in Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
- Management, maintenance and troubleshooting of existing systems . Including real-time machine monitoring, MES (Manufacturing Execution System), RFID and machine vision systems.
- Collaborate with Weir’s global technology team to drive a consistent approach and integration of technology.
- Manage and implement big data solutions and standardise data capture across a variety of inputs.
- Liaise with stakeholders to select and implement suitable equipment for digital transformation. This includes sensor and control systems, robotics, predictive maintenance, machine learning and a suite of real-time systems.
- Review and benchmark new and emerging technologies that can be used to enhance the Artarmon facility.
- Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture. Including the introduction of new technology to remove people from harm.
Job Knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronic Engineering.
- 3 - 5+ years' experience in an Operational Technology role with hands on experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Sensor and hardware rationalisation for harsh environments.
- Real-time control system experience including object-oriented PLC programming.
- Strong ability across a suite of programming languages required (Structured Text, C++, REST). Node.js and React is favourable.
- Database (relational and time-series) implementation experience with a proficiency in SQL desirable.
- Ability to create CAD models and drawings for manufacturing (preferred but not essential).
- Demonstrated understanding of methods for mitigating risk in system design.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
