THE ROLE
We're seeking a full-time Operations Engineer to join our team that is responsible for the Operation and Maintenance of our District Energy & Recycled Water Plant based in Sydney that provide electricity and thermal services to our customers from our on-site Gas Engines, Chillers and Boiler plant. The successful candidate will join a dynamic company working with a collaborative team who are passionate about what they do.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct daily operational checks of critical plant assets, using established site check sheets, and taking corrective and preventative action when required
- Supervise contractors undertaking maintenance and repairs
- Effectively to monitor the plant activities and system alarms, and perform isolations/de-isolations as required
- Write an effective shift report
- Analyse data to identify issues and implement changes to improve performance
- Identify and implement operational and engineered improvements
- Perform general maintenance duties, including adjustments and minor repairs
- Operate Generators, Chillers, Boilers, Recycled Water plan, auxiliary pumping equipment, and other plant equipment, and connect or disconnect equipment from circuits as required
- Work a rotating shift roster
- Respond to emergencies, receive outage calls, assist in emergency response
This role is suited, but not limited, to someone with the following qualifications and/or experience:
- Bachelor of Engineering or Engineering Tradesperson in associated discipline e.g. mechanic, fitter, electrical or refrigeration
- 2-3yrs + experience in energy, water, manufacturing, process operations or similar industry
- Strong troubleshooting ability in electrical, mechanical and thermal systems
- Exposure to SCADA/BMS systems
- HV switching / authorised person highly regarded
- Sound technical, problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong team player who can demonstrate initiative, with the ability to work independently and without supervision
- Proven organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to receive and comprehend work instructions, be proactive and confidently articulate tasks to be undertaken
- An understanding of and commitment to WHS&E requirements.
- Experience in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Data analysis skills
