A key leadership opportunity has arisen within one of Australia’s largest providers of early childhood education. Employing over 5,500 staff nationally in 250 + centres, they are now seeking a dynamic, experienced Operations Manager to drive growth, strategic development, and provide strong leadership in an environment of constant change and opportunities. This role has full accountability for achieving business targets and quality outcomes for all centres in the Western Victorian region. We are seeking a true leader of people, who can effortlessly inspire, motivate, and develop high performing teams through their strong business acumen, vision, high energy levels and extensive experience in commercial/business management.
Specifically, your responsibilities will include;
- Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for yourself and your team
- Effectively lead and motivate Area and Centre Managers over 23 + multi sites to deliver commercial and quality outcomes
- Effectively develop a team of Area Managers through innovative and inspiring coaching, mentoring, and training including the use of appraisal and development plans to build competency and performance
- Implementation of strategies to enhance employee engagement and reduce turnover
- Ensure occupancy initiatives are executed at centre level and success of promotions evaluated
- Reporting and financial management for the Western Regions of Victoria including assisting with the development and review of the annual business plan and budget
- Driving sales and profit growth through personal and team KPIs including, but not limited to; Occupancy %, Wage to Revenue, Debt Control, Employment Engagement/Turnover, Centre Management Audit Rating (TBD)
- Overseeing compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Oversee the effective identification of hazards and risks and ensure effective risk assessments and controls are in place
To be successful in this position, you will require;
- A background in Operations Management in a fast paced, people oriented/service environment over multiple sites (previous experience within the childcare advantageous)
- A demonstrated strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in exceeding budgets, P&L responsibility and ensuring a high level of operational compliance.
- An ability to `think outside of the square’ and identify opportunities.
- High level of problem solving, time management and organisational skills
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing Area Managers
- Computer adeptness
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Business or equivalent
- An infectious level of motivation, energy, and enthusiasm
- Current drivers’ licence with the ability to travel extensively and at short notice
