Skilltech, a division of the Downer Group, is one of Australia’s largest providers of metering services. We provide over 50 million meter readings and associated services for water, electricity and gas meters for government, utilities and corporations across Australia each year.
We are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee our metering services operations in Western Australia and ensure we achieve our contract requirements. The role is based at our office in Perth WA.
About the role
Reporting into the National Operations Manager, this role is responsible for planning, monitoring, and providing direction to our field and office staff across our WA operations. Other responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Manage the planning and execution of contract logistics
- Support the financial performance of the contract, including financial reporting, EBIT management, wage and cost management and invoicing
- Effectively support and manage staff including performance management, staff welfare, providing feedback, encouragement and guidance
- Oversee the management, supply and maintenance of relevant equipment (i.e. vehicles, tools, uniforms and consumables) to ensure contract needs are met
- Actively promote and adhere to the organisation’s policies, procedures and codes of conduct.
About you
- Proven work experience in people management and/or managing field operations in a relevant industry
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Sound understanding of productivity requirements in order to achieve contract deadlines and work scope requirements
- A strong commitment to customer service, health and safety always leading by example
- Well-developed organisational skills including the ability to compile reporting.
