Our client, a leader in the resource industry services sector, has built a phenomenal name for excellence, an unerring commitment to exceptional service delivery and has enjoyed staggering growth over the last 5 years. Their operations encompass a variety of services within the heavy industrial and resource sectors and the future growth plans, plus the fact that they are now a large organisation, demands a C-Suite operations expert to partner the MD and ELT in the next chapter of the organisations journey.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the COO will play a critical role in guiding the company through its next phase of expansion and transformation. You will lead and mentor a high-performing management team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement throughout every part of the company. Establishing robust management and leadership systems, focusing on consistent metrics and operational discipline, will be crucial. This role will own corporate quality and efficiency, making the business 1% better every week and maintaining top standards across all departments of the 300+ workforce.
Additionally, you will assist the Managing Director with strategic planning, allowing them to focus on broader business initiatives. Identifying and mitigating commercial risks, ensuring compliance with governance and contractual obligations, and spearheading transformational growth initiatives, guiding the company through significant projects will round out this exciting COO position.
The ideal candidate will carry the following:
- A proven history of leading private large organisations, where working closely with the owner was paramount to success.
- An early-career foundation in “on the ground” operational positions where you were “on the tools and in the coalface! ”
- A strong background in the resource industry services sector or a related heavy industrial services field.
- The ability to thrive in a private, agile, and entrepreneurial environment, along with exceptional leadership skills and a track record of developing and inspiring high-performance teams.
- Experience in managing rapid growth and implementing strategic initiatives whilst a company was expanding quickly.
- A positive, approachable demeanour and a commitment to achieving “best in class” standards with a supportive and nurturing leadership style that set you apart.
