You will be responsible for:Developing and implementing operational plans to enable sustainable forest management of State Forests (e.g. prescribed burning, road & fire trail maintenance, weed management & pest animal control).Collaborating with talented, passionate, and knowledgeable colleagues.Working on a variety of tasks and developing your skills in many areas within Forestry Corporation. Assisting with fire management/suppression activities and ecological surveys where required. We would love you to have:Bachelor’s degree in forestry, environmental science, natural resources, or related field; or relevant experienceDemonstrated understanding of forest management practices including prescribed burning, road & trail construction & maintenance, silviculture, weed management and pest animal control.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in preparing and delivering operational plans within a forest management context.Knowledge and skills in the use of technologies and systems relevant to operations planning, including GIS (e.g. ArcMap).Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and best-practice methodologies. Ability to organize and supervise contractors to undertake operational works.Proven organisational skills - ability to plan and prioritise work, meet standards and deadlines.Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
