Reliance Forest Fibre is a manager of commercial plantations in Tasmania.  The RFF estate of approximately 65,600ha of land across Tasmania comprises 49,200 ha of productive Eucalyptus Nitens and Eucalyptus globulus plantations and 16,400 ha of natural forest and non-productive land.

What you will be doing:

The successful candidate will join the team at the Hobart office and participate in various outdoor tasks. Key responsibilities include:

• Safety: Think Safe> Work Safe> Home Safe 
  • Promote safe behaviours and ensure safety in all activities.
  • Contractor audits to ensure adherence to all standards.
  • Ensure reporting of incidents is completed on time.
• Stakeholder Interactions: 
  • Appropriately handle interactions and communications with all stakeholders.
  • Promptly address inquiries, concerns, and feedback to maintain a high level of satisfaction.
• Contractor Oversight: 
  • Supervise on-site operational performance of contractors.
• Planning: 
  • Assist in the planning of roading, harvest and silviculture operations.
• Quality Control: 
  • Conduct quality control, auditing, and reporting to ensure work is carried out to a high standard.

• Budget Management: 
  • Assist in managing operational budgets effectively.
• Team Collaboration: 
  • Work closely with the RFF team for positive business outcomes.
• Fire Management: Participate in the organisation's fire management team and be on-call when required.

• Positive Attitude: Demonstrate a great attitude that aligns with the company culture.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team to meet standards and deadlines.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Experience: Demonstrated skills or experience in relevant fields or industries closely aligned with the position.
• Technology Skills: Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license.
• Interests in Natural Resource Management: recent graduate or experience working in related fields.

The following would be highly regarded but are not essential:

• Experience in Contractor supervision. 
• First aid qualifications.
• Exposure to Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Natural Sciences, or related fields. 
• Degree in Forestry Natural Resource Management or agriculture sciences.
• Experience in bushfire suppression.
