ResourceCo is an Australian success story making waves in the circular economy. A leader in the recovery, recycling and re-use of products, ResourceCo works with governments, communities and multinational companies, in its enduring commitment to maximise the value of all resources. To date the company has directly repurposed a staggering 60 million tonnes of waste that otherwise would have ended up in landfill, shaping industries from construction to mining for a more sustainable future.
Privately owned, and experiencing steady growth since 1991, ResourceCo today includes a team of over 900 people across Australia & South East Asia. With a focus on substantial expansion in Victoria, ResourceCo continues to strategically build out their dedicated local Recycling and Waste team. This team supported by significant company investment, will tap into a vast pool of opportunities, providing industry leading recycled products to the construction, civil and mining industries.
The Role
As the Operations Supervisor you will support the GM Operations in providing day to day oversight of all operational activities conducted at the Hampton Park materials processing site spanning 70 hectares.
Working from the one location of a national and international organisation allows you to maintain a well organised site. On an annual basis the Hampton Park site crushes approximately 300,000 tonnes of construction & demolition waste into a range of high quality roadbase and construction materials, in addition to a busy fill material and soils re-use operation.
The Operations Supervisor will help to develop and execute the Operational Plan, to ensure operational activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner, to achieve the commercial and market based activities of the business. This filters down to managing resource allocation; rostering personnel and scheduling equipment, within budgeted and planned constraints, to achieve operational objectives. It also encompasses ensuring an effective reliability and asset management plan is in place, to achieve reliability, uptime and cost efficiency targets.
On Site the Operations Supervisor will manage a team of up to 24 people daily, consisting of 15 FT employees and contractors, including, mobile plant operators, weighbridge and general site personnel, as well as a small contract crushing team. The fast pace and rapidly changing operational tempo provides a dynamic and stimulating environment, where the needs of our customers, and the wellbeing of our team are always our highest priority.
As a leader on site, the Operations Supervisor will provide troubleshooting expertise and determine solutions to drive effective production. For example this could include altering access points as required, monitoring and improving screen running time and adapting workflow based on weather conditions. Beyond day to day troubleshooting there is huge scope to develop and trial innovative solutions that can have a big impact on production, making this an appealing role for someone that likes to be mentally engaged, with the opportunity to make a difference.
A strong safety culture is essential, and the Operations Supervisor will consider different ways to add degrees of safety, and communicate safety protocol and initiatives at regular tool box meetings. This care extends to improving health, wellbeing, environmental and quality standards for the site.
Generally speaking the Operations Supervisor will be a thoughtful, skilled and decisive leader respected for their knowledge, experience and care of others.
The Future
There are plans to significantly build out the scope of the Hampton Park site overtime, by incorporating a waste sorting facility at a later date, providing longevity of employment and the creation of local job opportunities well into the future.
Working for a national and international leader provides significant career development opportunities within the ResourceCo group beyond the scope of Hampton Park, for those that are a little more ambitious.
This is a truly unique opportunity to take on an operational leadership role with a well-established market leader, to help spearhead the company’s operational footprint in Melbourne.
