Precision Eye Clinic is an ophthalmology clinic located in Sandy Bay, Hobart. The doctors at the clinic see a high volume of patients, ranging from infants to the elderly with a diverse range of eye health conditions. Role Description
This role is for an Ophthalmic Technician/medical assistant/ophthalmic nurse to work alongside the doctors, assisting them to deliver excellent care.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care and performing a range of duties that include; taking patient histories, conducting vision tests, administering eye drops, assisting with minor surgical procedures and post-operative care.
Qualifications
You must be able to effectively prioritise in a busy multi-tasking environment and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Whilst previous experience working in a similar role is preferable, it is not essential as comprehensive training will be given.
Renumeration will be based on experience and qualification.
Responsibilities
- Conducting visual examinations and ophthalmic scans.
- Assisting in the organisation of planned operations
- Liaising with referrers & private hospitals/day hospital
- Assisting in minor procedures on site
- Managing patient enquires
- Organisation/ ordering of clinic stock
Qualifications
- Experience working in a busy clinic or similar environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, colleagues, and doctors
- Attention to detail, accurate documentation of patient information and maintaining electronic health records
- Computer literacy and experience with medical software
