Our treatments, led by our Behavioural Optometrists, encompass a range of options including glasses, prisms, tints, and Vision Therapy. Our care extends to patients with learning difficulties, concussions, and brain injuries, aiming to enhance function and alleviate symptoms associated with their conditions.
At OptimEyes Optometry, we're seeking a Part-time (3-4 days) or Full-time Optical Dispenser to join our dynamic team in our rapidly growing practice. With a diverse patient base, including a significant paediatric cohort, our team is deeply committed to delivering compassionate and comprehensive vision care.
Clinical Duties – Optical Dispenser
As a vital liaison with our patients, our dispensing team plays a crucial role in assisting patients with frame selection and completing dispensing duties, including:
• Assisting clients in selecting frames, dispensing, fitting, and adjusting frames
• Providing explanations regarding spectacle prescriptions as prescribed by the optometrist
• Monitoring and maintaining inventory, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure stock availability and alignment with sales trends
• Completing arrivals of all frames and lens orders
• Managing and coordinating contact lens orders
• Conducting pre-testing of patients, including OCT, ultra-wide camera, and Visual Fields when necessary
General Administrative and Clerical Duties
All team members will receive cross-training in various practice areas, including reception and customer service. Responsibilities will include:
• Making and scheduling appointments using the practice management software system
• Performing reception and administrative tasks (e.g., scanning, emailing)
• Handling phone inquiries
• Managing patient appointments
• Overseeing the waiting room, light cleaning, disinfecting, and tidying duties
• Providing support and assistance to optometrists and vision therapy staff members
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
• Optical Dispensing qualifications or relevant experience in the optical industry as an Optical Assistant
• A genuine passion for dispensing to ensure an exceptional patient experience
• Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills
• A friendly, helpful, and compassionate demeanour to deliver outstanding customer service
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while also being a collaborative team player
