Job description

FTS Resolve are seeking a new trainee to join our Fibre Hauling or Splicing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for various roles, including Fibre/Copper hauling (underground & internal customer tenancies). Splicing, testing, and maintaining fibre optic equipment, and network infrastructure in support of FTS Resolve’s clients over various networks.

Key Responsibilities:
• External & Internal Fibre Optic hauling
• Rod & rope/ Duct proving
• Install and terminate fibre optic cables, joint enclosures & patch panels. 
• Test and commission fibre optic networks and equipment.
• Maintain and repair fibre optic networks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with fibre optic networks.
• Capture and maintain accurate documentation and records of all fibre optic installations.
• Maintain and adhere to all safe working methods and follow all FTS relevant safety procedures.

Requirements:
• Construction Industry Card (White card)
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Clear communication and reporting skills.
• Current Australian driver's license (Manual license desirable)
• Strong work ethic, willing to learn, positive attitude a must!

Preferred but not essential. 
• Medium Rigid Truck License
• Experience with cable winch 
• Basic understanding of fibre networks. 
• Read and understand network plans. 
• First Aid/CPR, Confined Space, Manual Handling, Working at Heights, Traffic management tickets.

We offer an hourly pay rate (dependent on experience and knowledge) plus penalty rates with the potential of a fully maintained and equipped company vehicle for work purposes. 
The position would initially be Casual with a Full Time/ Permanent role on offer after a successful Probation period.
Please note, we are willing to hire a Trainee with little to no experience who is keen to apply themselves, work hard & learn from experienced Technicians, i.e. somebody just out of school, TAFE or looking for a new challenge.
