About the Role
We are currently seeking casual orthoptists for locum work in the RCH Ophthalmology Department who have highly developed clinical skills, demonstrated abilities in performing both as a team member and independently, and a keen interest in Paediatric Ophthalmology. Please note there are no fixed shifts with this position as it is for casual locum work only.
Your skills and experience
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Orthoptics) or equivalent.
- Registered with or eligible for registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board (AOB).
- Experience in paediatric orthoptics or strabismus is desirable.

- A capacity to work both autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Able to demonstrate an ability to manage time and prioritise tasks.
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to demonstrate attendance or participation at Orthoptic Continuing Education events and maintain an awareness of current orthoptic and ophthalmic evidence based practice.
