The Role
- Supervise and engage children during before and after school hours, and during school holidays always ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Support children with their homework and provide them with guidance and encouragement.
- Assist with planning and organising age-appropriate recreational and educational activities for children, fostering their personal, social, and intellectual growth.
- Ensure Coomera Anglican College facilitates quality play and leisure-based education and care programs for children responsive to children’s ideas, strengths and abilities that inspire independent learners.
- Assist with the smooth running of the OSHC service in line with the relevant regulations, policies and procedures under the direction of the OSHC Coordinator
- Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, educators, staff and management ensuring effective communication and cooperation to deliver best outcomes for families and children.
- Promote and encourage a respectful and inclusive environment that celebrates diversity.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Quality Improvement Plan and assist for the OSHC service and assist to ensure OSHC program and/or Vacation Care program meets the goals of the approved learning framework
- Assist with the documentation of children’s developmental needs, interests, experiences and participation in the educational program a variety of ways
- Act as a positive role model, demonstrating appropriate behaviour and language
To be successful you will:
- A current paid Blue Card
- Relevant OSHC Qualifications (Cert III in Children’s Services or a recognised OSHC qualification)
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Anaphylaxis and Emergency Asthma training
- A minimum 1 year working in an OSHC service
- Be enthusiastic, with a happy and bright disposition who enjoys engaging with children and creating stimulating learning experiences
- Demonstrate knowledge and obligations of the legislation, rules and regulations relating to the operation of the OSHC Service
- Demonstrate knowledge of the National Quality Framework and meet these guidelines in work practices
- Be able to effectively communicate and build relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader College community
