Elizabeth Grove OSHC is a culturally diverse and inclusive service catering to children from Preschool to Year 6. Our program is centred around children feeling safe and supported while working constructively in a social environment. We facilitate positive social experiences and outcomes for all children that attend.
EGPS OSHC is experiencing an exciting phase of growth driven by a change in leadership and an increase in student enrolments. We are hoping to expand our team with new educators which will possibly enable us to expand on the accessibility of the service. This will be a great avenue to hone your skills and abilities in a fast-paced environment.
OSHC currently operates 40 weeks of the year and is closed over school holiday periods. We are seeking high calibre staff to work a variety of shifts including before and after school care with the possibility to extend to pupil free days. Operational hours start from 6:30am and conclude at 6:00pm.
Current pay rate is inclusive of 25% casual loading, plus you also receive superannuation at the current rate of 11%.
All successful applicants would receive support and training and work closely with the Director to be successful in the role.
Job Description
- Ensure the supervision, safety, security, wellbeing and duty of care of all children is upheld at all times.
- Prepare, implement and evaluate a quality program based on individual and group needs of children under supervision.
- Incorporate equity principles into all practices.
- Work in accordance with the National Quality Standards.
- Support the Service Philosophy.
- Ensure that service policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Present observations of children, as required while maintaining confidentiality.
- Contribute to a supportive atmosphere and working environment.
- Liaise with families and the community.
Skills
- Effective consultative, interpersonal and supervisory skills to support the complexities of students.
- Ability to interact with students in a positive, sensitive and respectful manner.
- Ability to supervise large groups and small groups within those groups.
- Ability to implement behaviour management procedures and strategies to support children.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Display initiative; maintain confidentiality, show professionalism and skill in carrying out the tasks associated with the position.
- Willingness to accept constructive feedback, coaching and direction.
Qualifications
- Experience working with over preschool age children or in a similar role (preferred).
- Current Working With Children Check
- Current Apply First Aid Certificate to include asthma and anaphylactic training
- Current accreditation in Responding to Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN-EC)
