An exciting and rare opportunity has become available. Busy Bee's OSHC is searching for a dedicated, experienced supervisor to join our amazing team and manage the day to day operation of our centre. We are looking for someone who is passionate and committed to being an advocate for children and families.
This is a Permanent position, 38hrs per week, Monday to Friday, split shift plus Vacation Care. This role would suit an experienced supervisor with a passion for the development and nurturing of children in a school age care setting.
We are a privately owned family service established on the coast for over 20years. You will be provided with lots of support from management and service provider. Come and join our fun and friendly, family team!
Position Description
We are currently Seeking a highly motivated, passionate Nominated Supervisor to lead our Wyong team.
This is a full-time position 38hrs per week, split shifts, Monday to Friday.
Monday 6.30am-11.30am & 2.15pm-6.15pm
Tuesday 6.30am-9.00am & 2.15pm-6.15pm
Wednesday 6.30am-12.00pm & 2.15pm-6.15pm
Thursday 6.30am-9.00pm & 2.15pm-6.15pm
Friday 6.30am-9.00am & 2.15pm-6.15pm
Vacation Care between 6.45am-6.15pm ( Approx 8 hrs per day). Vacation care operates at our Shelly Beach centre.
Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Be willing to accept the role as the Nominated supervisor under the Education and Care National Law and Education and Care National Regulations
- Ensure compliance with Education and Care National Quality Law, National Quality Framework, and WHS legislation. Ensuring the Health, Safety and wellbeing of children, families and educators to maintain a meeting or exceeding level at all times. Administrative procedures including QIP, SIP, Enrolments and CCS.
- Demonstrate the ability to successfully support MTOP Framework with the centre curriculum.
- Responsible for the day to day running of the service including all administration tasks.
- Planning, development and implementation of developmentally appropriate programs for school age children which meets the NQF-MTOP
- Ensure programs developed meet the needs of children, including those with additional needs.
- Responsible for the direction, support and guidance of educators.
- Conduct staff appraisals and support educators in professional development.
- Ensure weekly menu's meet the healthy eating guidelines.
- Develop and review Quality Improvement Plans (QIP) in accordance with ACECQA requirements.
- Develop and review Strategic inclusion plans (SIP) and liaise with inclusion support professionals for inclusion support.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) with the ability to build positive relationships and communicate positively and openly with educators, staff, children, parents, and school on an ongoing basis.
- Ensuring children are adequately supervised and ratios are always met.
- Regularly attend meetings with management/service provider.
- Participate in meetings, training and development both internally and externally
- Create a stimulating, positive and appropriate environment.
Essential Criteria
- Certificate IV in OSHC / Diploma in OSHC / Diploma in Children's services /or equivalent or Certificate III in Children’s Services (minimum of 3 years’ experience) as identified by Australian Children’s Education and care Authority
- Previous childcare experience in Supervisor Role, preferably in OSHC
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation including National Quality Framework (NQF), National Regulations, National Law Act 2010, Child Protection Legislation Act 1999 etc.
- Must Hold a valid NSW Paid Working with Children Check
- A National Police Check Clearance (required to be completed as part of the pre-employment process).
- Full Drivers Licence
- Current First Aid Certification - HLTAID012 Provide first aid in an education and care setting, HLTAID011 Provide First Aid, HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support and HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- Child Protection Certificate (Identify and Respond to Children and Young people at risk of harm)
- Food safety supervisor certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Knowledge, understanding and experience in managing staff.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and strong leadership skills.
- Effective computer skills and knowledge of childcare software & CCS
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
