Outreach Officer - Waste Education

Your new role
The primary purpose of this role is to deliver outreach education events, programs and activities for the Resource Recovery team that will encourage recycling, avoidance and waste minimisation behaviours while promoting the organisation's waste and recycling services, programs and projects in line with their strategic waste objectives.

• Deliver effective, engaging community education and behaviour-change activities to a diverse range of audiences and community groups using a range of engagement techniques, such as face to face and online education methods
• Conduct a range of high-quality communication and public outreach activities including site visits, local events, information sessions
• Plan and implement all event logistic requirements for the promotion and delivery of engagement and outreach activities
• Provide high quality customer service and proactively solve customer enquiries and requests

What you'll need to succeed

• Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline or extensive relevant knowledge and experience in community outreach, engagement and/or education
• Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality outreach education activities or programs
• Well-developed oral, written and presentation communication skills
• Ability to plan, implement and evaluate community outreach education programs and to develop partnerships with residents, community groups, government departments
• The ability to work outside core hours and weekends as required
• Holds a valid class C drivers' licence and has or is willing to obtain a current Working with Children Check
