Key Responsibilities:
The client, in Chemistry Centre provide accredited analyses of various samples to support research and decision-making in agriculture, environmental and resource management.
As a Chemist, your role will involve providing analytical support, chemistry advice, and targeted research to ensure the quality and relevance of critical science activities.
- Lead a team operating and maintaining major analytical instruments.
- Mentor staff in chemistry theory and laboratory practices.
- Ensure timely delivery of analytical services to internal and external clients.
- Provide technical advice on inorganic laboratory services, particularly in soil, plants, and sediments.
- Influence the delivery of high-quality analytical services consistent with NATA standards.
- Support strategic planning and enhance professionalism within the team.
- Engage in method development and innovations in soil, plant, and water chemistries.
- Expertise in laboratory techniques related to soil, plants, and sediment assessment.
- Ability to work independently or in a team to tight schedules.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Capability to plan and develop new analytical methods.
- Commitment to workplace diversity, safety, and quality assurance.
- Candidates must hold a university degree in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry.
