About the Company
Our client is a family farming business, established in the 1960’s focusing on pineapples, mango’s, strawberries and specialty berry crops, with some 1,010 hectares under cultivation around Australia.
About the role
Oversee the daily packing operation of the Orielton packing facility to ensure reliable, efficient, timely, safe and quality outputs.
Main Responsibilities
(must be demonstrated in your application letter/resume)
· Daily liaison with the Commercial team in relation to forecasting, volumes and pack size of produce
· Ensure Pack Shed activities are carried out in accordance with the company’s quality assurance program
· Working with key staff to develop plans to meet expected orders
· Work with the Operations Team to set stock on hand requirements
· Ensuring staff understand output/outcome requirements
· Ensuring effective daily/periodic maintenance and cleaning processes for shed and equipment
· Ensuring all reports and labour hire personnel understand their role and responsibilities
· Advising staff of changes to administrative process, procedure and policy
· Adhering to all company policies and procedures
Education / Experience / Skills
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
· Fresh food experience essential
· Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft packages
· Knowledge of supply chain computer system such as FreshPack
· Horticultural Industry Experience Mechanically minded, able to carry out minor repairs and preventative maintenance
· Strong on the job numerical reasoning
· Analytical, contingency planner
