Aether Brewing is the culmination of dreams, to make sensational, high quality, industry leading beer and give each and every customer the experience they deserve. Our Brewery is located in Northgate which is home to our large production facility turning out award winning beers every day of the week.
Due to team advancements within our brewery, we are in need of a dedicated, fun and skilled Packaging Lead that will be responsible for overseeing operations on the various packaging requirements at Aether. The focus of this role is to meet production goals while maintaining quality and keeping a safe working environment. The Packaging Lead will also work with other departments to ensure seamless operation from brewing through to sales.
Primary Responsibilities:
Production Oversight:
- Oversee packaging operations through proper sanitation, processing and packaging procedures.
- Perform the tasks of a Packaging Operator.
- Ensuring the timely and efficient execution of production plans.
- Monitor production flow to identify issues and minimise packaging downtime.
- Ensure operating environment is kept to appropriate cleanliness and organization.
- Conduct routine maintenance on packaging equipment to minimise breakdowns.
- Develop and monitor all critical control points to ensure consistency and quality
Safety:
- Nurture a safe working environment by maintaining safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to mitigate potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and policies.
Quality Assurance:
- Maintain and where possible, improve. quality assurance practices to ensure that all packaged products meets the highest quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of packaging lines, equipment, and finished products to identify and resolve any quality issues.
- Train packaging operators on quality standards and proper packaging techniques
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify space for process improvements, cost savings and waste reduction.
- Collaborate with interdepartmental teams to implement and monitor improvement initiatives.
Skills/Abilities/Experience:
It is desirable for a candidate to have:
- An insatiable love of beer.
- Proficiency in MS Office products.
- A background education in brewing or the FMCG industry.
- Knowledge of good manufacturing principles (GMP).
- A good knowledge of mechanical systems
- Hands-on experience and knowledge of the complete brewing process, with specific knowledge in packaging processes.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop colleagues
- Ability to create team-oriented environment.
- An understanding of quality assurance principles and practices.
- Proficiency in implementing and enforcing safety standards.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- A valid and up to date Queensland RSA.
- A Queensland High Risk Work (Forklift) license.
Physical Requirements
- Bending, twisting, and stretching motions are required throughout the shift.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods (8+ hours).
- Must be able to lift 25+kg kegs and move pallets with a pallet jack.
- There will be frequent exposure production environments; subject to loud and constant noise, heavy machinery and hot/cold spaces.
