Paediatric Basic Trainee

The Role:
Paediatrics Basic Trainee Year 1. This position is accredited for basic training, and ideally suited to applicants who are in, or interested in joining, the paediatric training program, and have at least 3 months of Paediatric experience.You will be responsible for the day to day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients. These positions include rotations in General Paediatrics, Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care (NPICU) and Paediatric Surgery. This is a fixed term, full time day work working 76 hours per fortnight (+protected training time) starting in February 2025 for 12 months.Rotations that may be available are Inpatient general paediatrics, Neonatal & Paediatric Intensive, Paediatric Emergency, Paediatric Ambulatory Care, Paediatric Surgery, Paediatric sub-specialty - including Oncology, Respiratory, Diabetes, Endocrinology, Neurology.The Location

• 32 bed paediatric and adolescent wards
• 4 short-stay unit and 4 high dependency unit.
• 12 bed Neonatal and Paediatric ICU (NPICU)
• Large outpatient service.

The Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 months Paediatric experience at registrar level
• Hold registration with AHPRA.
