Paediatric Emergency Medicine Consultant:
- Parkville, Melbourne location

This is a permanent full time or part time positions within the Emergency Department, commencing on or after February 2024.
You will be responsible for providing leadership, supervision and direct patient care in the Emergency Department. You will also, as a permanent member of the senior medical staff, play a role in advancing the specialty of Paediatric Emergency Medicine both within and beyond RCH.
What you'll achieve:
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in the practice of Paediatric Emergency Medicine.
- Utilise and further develop your existing clinical and non-clinical skills.
- Be a valued member of a multidisciplinary team.
Your skills and experience:
- You will have specialist registration with AHPRA.
- Completion of fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine or Royal Australasian College of Physicians, having satisfied accredited training in Paediatric Emergency Medicine under either of those colleges.
- PEM trainees at or near completion of training will be considered for a delayed commencement if their specialist registration and fellowship is confirmed but pending formal endorsement at the time of application.
- Proven experience as a senior decision maker in the practice of Paediatric Emergency Medicine.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate your role as a leader in a collaborative and respectful multidisciplinary team.
About the Emergency Department:
The Emergency Department is the busiest paediatric ED in the country and assesses and treats over 90,000 children a year for a range of urgent medical and surgical conditions. We are currently undergoing a major redevelopment with an increase in physical capacity and staffing. The department has an active education program and plays a major role in national and international Paediatric Emergency Medicine research.
