Division of Medical Services. The Service consists of the following areas: Departments of Nephrology, General Medicine, Emergency, Intensive Care, Endocrinology, Dermatology, Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology, Infectious Diseases, Infection Control, Rheumatology, Respiratory Medicine, Paediatric Medicine, Diabetes Education and Podiatry.
The Medical Division is currently offering the below exciting opportunities:
- Paediatrics- Ward 2 West
- Austin Campus
- Permanent Part-time hours available- 32hrs/per week
The Paediatric ward (2 West) is a 16-bed general paediatric unit. The 16 beds are utilised by the following specialties: Paediatric Medicine, Epilepsy, Plastics, Ear Nose and Throat, and Orthopaedics. The ward admits from birth to 18 years of age. The Paediatric ward offers specialist Paediatric programs for Eating Disorders, Diabetes and Epilepsy.
About the role:
As an Austin Health Nurse you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of evidence-based nursing care in designated medical specialties, in order to optimize health outcomes for the community.
Key responsibilities will see you:
- Ensure the well-being and safety of patients by following the values and principles, which underpin best practice in relation to patient care, education and patient rights
- Support a philosophy of care, which is patient focused, from admission to discharge, and where the family is welcome in the carers team
- Achieve and maintain the skills necessary, through personal professional development, to plan, prioritize and implement holistic patient care

You’ll further have:
- Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registered Nurse registration
- Acute clinical experience and knowledge

- The ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
