We will:-
- support, train and develop you to become a confident and knowledgeable therapist who can assess and treat a range of clients. Support and professional development every week. Resources and test materials for all areas provided to enable ease of planning goals and delivering services clients.
- work with you to grow your areas of interest and build your knowledge in areas you may not have had the opportunity to explore.
- provide a supportive administrative, therapy and management team to ensure you have help when needed for any aspect of the role.
- Balance your work and life needs with a half day every Friday. Hours will be 8:00-5:30 Monday- Thursday and Fridays 8:00-12:00. Enjoy an early weekend!!
Who are we?
- We are a multidisciplinary clinic servicing the Nepean-Blue Mountains region. Our Occupational Therapists and SP team work closely together to provide integrated care.
- Belinda, our clinical director has worked as a speech pathologist for 30 years in numerous sectors throughout her career. In addition to her clinical work she has been involved with clinical education, teaching and leadership in the national association. She thoroughly understands the skills and needs of graduates. She has lead the OT and SP team for the last 15 years.
- We invest and provide up to date diagnostic and intervention resources and we have a purpose built gym which provides an area to work with clients who require movement, motor and sensory considerations.
- We will have a new sensory space in 2024 where you can use light, textures and sensory materials to aid participation when you want to either avoid or utilise sensory modalities and preferences.
- We provide full time administration support to enable staff to focus on clinical management
- We have an allied health assistant program to support clients and build the development of the future of our workforce.
- We assist staff in formulating an individualised professional development plan.
- We provide weekly learning activities for staff to build clinical knowledge and skills.
- Staff are provided with a weekly schedule that is predictable and balanced with clinical, professional development, support and administrative time. No more than 60% of the week is allocated billable activities.
When can you start?
We would love you to join our team as soon as you are available in June or July.
What does the role involve?
- conducting quality assessments and providing therapy services to children and young people in a range of clinic and community contexts
- working across the range of practice areas, including fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, activities of daily living and emotional self regulation
- working with clients receiving services under the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) in addition to privately funded clients
- writing reports and accurately documenting client activity using our digital practice management software
- working with the existing team of speech pathologists, our Occupational Therapists, support staff and the senior speech pathologist
What do you need?
- Degree in occupational therapy
- Current or eligibility for AHPRA membership
- Eligibility to be a Medicare Provider
- Own transport and driver's licence
- Police Check
- Be prepared to undertake professional indemnity insurance once registration obtained
- Working with Children Check
- Effective and positive interpersonal skills and high level written communication
- Proven ethical and professional qualities
- A high level of independent organisational skills
- The ability to work effectively in a team
- Willingness to take on new experiences and challenges
Salary will be competitive and commensurate with years of experience and open to negotiation for the right applicant.
