Dani McLennan Occupational Therapy is an occupational therapy service passionate about providing quality therapy services to infants, children and young people. The clinic is based in Traralgon and provides support to families from across the Latrobe Valley and greater Gippsland region. In addition to the clinic-based services, we work with children and their families within their home and community settings.
The infants, children and young people that we help often present with developmental delays and disorders, specific learning disorders, sensory processing and motor co-ordination difficulties, and other diagnoses such as cerebral palsy, ADHD, ASD and DCD. The service has a special interest in providing support to those children with complex medical backgrounds and rare genetic conditions.
We are currently seeking to grow our team and are looking for Occupational Therapists who are passionate about helping children to reach their potential! The role involves providing both clinic based services and mobile services within the community. Predominately mobile roles are available, particularly to those who may reside in East and West Gippsland areas. The start date is flexible according to the needs of the successful candidate.
ABOUT THE POSITION
In this role you will be providing clinic and community based occupational therapy services to children and their families. This includes both assessment and intervention. Many of the children within the service have access to the NDIS. Within this role you will be required to work collaboratively with the child’s other team members, including their parents, teachers and other involved professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to the child’s care is taken. The caseload of children will be varied in both age and clinical difficulties. In addition to individual work, have the opportunity to facilitate group therapy programs and be involved in community based group programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver assessment & therapy services within a clinic, home and community setting
- Develop client and family centred goals and intervention plans
- Write funding request documents and reports for various organisations
- Deliver individual and group based therapies
- Deliver all services within a strength based, client driven, family inclusive model
- Liaise with other relevant supports, both professional and familial
- Collaborative design and implementation of agreed intervention plans that will promote the child's skills, independence and participation in play, learning, and social relationships
- Potential implementation of telehealth services
- Supervise visiting allied health and work experience students
- Manage and engage in developing social media and website content in appropriate manner
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Bachelor of occupational therapy or equivalent tertiary qualification
- Full registration with the AHPRA
- Current working with children card
- Current police check
- Current drivers licence and reliable insured car
EXPERIENCE
- 2 years experience working with children with disabilities, their families and teams preferred (new graduates may still apply)
- Community based private sector experience preferred
- Experience with NDIS
