RCH is a cornerstone member of the Melbourne Children’s Campus, partnering with Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics and The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation.

RCH has cared for the children and young people of Victoria for more than 150 years since it was founded in 1870. A full range of paediatrics and adolescent health services are provided plus tertiary and quaternary care for the most critically ill and medically complex patients in Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and other states around Australia and overseas. The Hospital has more than 6,000 staff, a budget of $850M, 12 wards and 350 beds. Annually, the RCH has 300,000+ Specialist Clinic appointments, 90,000+ Emergency Department presentations and 20,000 elective surgeries.

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced allied health clinician or nurse to join the team of Stream Leaders coordinating the Paediatric Rehabilitation service at the Royal Children’s Hospital. As a member of the senior leadership team you will be responsible to organising patient care, working collaboratively with families to identify goals as well as coordinating inpatient care, specialist clinics and day rehabilitation services.  This role is part of a job share position.


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated commitment to best practice care
  • Proactive and team player attitude
  • Your strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Relevant degree in allied health science/nursing or equivalent.
  • Current registration with AHPRA or evidence of eligibility of professional association.  For specific information please refer to Position Description
  • Experience working with children or in rehabilitation will be advantageous

About VPRS:

The VPRS – RCH is a dynamic service with dedicated highly skilled interdisciplinary clinicians that work with the broader RCH team to provide specialised Paediatric Rehabilitation.  The VPRS partners with families to thrive and values family centred care, partnerships, innovation, participation and diversity. Rehabilitation at the Royal Children’s Hospital has a number of inpatient beds as well as a large outpatient service. The caseload is variable including acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury and other neurological conditions.
