LAPD Maintenance Paint and Decoration is looking for a qualified and experienced painter to assist with operations. They will be responsible for mixing, matching, and applying paint to various surfaces, completing touch-ups and coordinating painting indoor and outdoor projects.
Tasks:
-Examine surface to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
-Make on site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc
-Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc
-Apply paint to walls and structures and protect surrounding areas
-Make assessments on paint color, mix and match pigments using multiple techniques and tools
-Remove previous paint using a number of methods to prepare surfaces
-Use different tools and brushes to apply paints with attention to details
-Support other team members to ensure completion of projects on time and according to specifications
-Work on residential and commercial work projects
-Understand and comply with industry safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Requirements:
-Australian citizens and residents encouraged to apply
-Minimum AQF Certificate III including at least 2 years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV or higher qualifications (three years of experience may substitute for formal qualifications)
-Minimum 3 years of experience as a painter
-Knowledge of all the applicable health and safety standards
-Good planning and organisational skills
-Attention to detail
-Communication skills
-Good balance and physical strength
-Able to work efficiently with and without supervision
