About the role
UGL are currently seeking suitably qualified Painter Blaster, to work on a brownfield’s construction project in Darwin, Northern Territory. This role will commence on site in July with an estimated 6-month duration. You will be a local Darwin resident and work a 19/9 roster or fly-in-fly-out from Perth.
The primary focus will be on piping systems, including integrating new pipework into existing systems. Additionally, you will be responsible for surface repairs on tanks, particularly when cutting into them to connect new piping. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and applying protective and decorative coatings to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare surfaces for painting and blasting, ensuring they are clean and ready for treatment.
2. Apply various painting techniques to a wide range of surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes.
3. Operate blasting equipment safely and efficiently to remove old paint, rust, and other materials.
4. Collaborate with the project team to meet deadlines and achieve project goals.
5. Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a Painter Blaster in a brownfields construction project.
2. Construction White Card
3. Working at Heights & Confined Space Ticket
4. EWP (preferred)
5. Proficient in using hand and power tools relevant to the job.
6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and installations.
7. Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
8. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
