The Painter will play a pivotal role assisting the Estates Services team in the completion of all reactive maintenance tasks. The main purpose of this role is to repair and maintain building decorative finishes and fabrics.
What you’ll be doing
• Apply protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer, and/or other related materials to interior and exterior structures.
• Undertake required repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain existing paint surfaces.
• Undertake associated tasks with paint surface repairs including tiling (floors and walls) and patch repairs.
• Assist as required with general maintenance in the Hospital.
• Undertake minor construction tasks.
• Assess risks associated with own day to day activities and report hazards.
• Operate within the constraints of permit to work systems.
• Use relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion.
• Maintain a professional and positive working relationship with other key stakeholders.
About you - your ideal skills & experience
• Recognised trade certificate in painting and Demonstrated painting experience in industrial and commercial environments.
• Working knowledge of maintenance trades.
• Maintenance of regulatory compliances in building industry.
• Ability to estimate time and materials needed to assign work projects.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations.
• Demonstrated previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment (desirable).
