We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Park Maintenance Team Member to join our team at Perth's Outback Splash. The ideal candidate will have a background in landscaping, handyman/building, mechanical qualifications and experience (ideal), excellent communication skills, and leadership qualities.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
A hands on position, assisting the Park and Aquatic Manager to ensure all operational tasks are carried out in a excellent, efficient and safe manner. This is a highly active role assisting with; water park operations, animal care, landscaping, basic maintenance and seasonal garden upkeep. The role includes a high level of interaction with Park Guests, an energetic and positive demeanour is a must.
Gardening and Maintenance/Handyman experience required, pool operations qualifications ideal.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all park attractions and activities, including animal enclosures, are clean, presentable and safe for visitors to enjoy.
- Manage and operate various machinery, tools, and equipment to carry out maintenance tasks, ensuring their safe and responsible use.
- Conduct general building and facility maintenance, repairs, and improvements as required, ensuring they meet safety and quality standards.
- Work with the team to design and develop landscaping projects, ensuring they enhance the park's overall appearance and appeal.
- Maintain inventory and assist in ordering equipment and supplies to ensure the park has everything it needs to run smoothly.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, taking appropriate action to ensure minimal disruption to park operations and visitor experiences.
Construction & Development Projects: Participate in construction tasks, including landscape and building enhancements, and lead off-season maintenance planning and execution.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols, conduct training sessions for staff, and uphold all regulatory compliance standards.
Grounds & Wildlife Care: Monitor park grounds, manage irrigation and fertilization schedules, and assist with wildlife care to maintain our park.
Rotational Responsibilities: This role requires a commitment to a schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, and public holidays on a rotational basis.
Candidate Profile:
- Hands on, creative… Good at ‘doing and fixing stuff.’
- An eye for detail and a proactive approach to maintenance and safety.
- A strong connection to outdoor work and a commitment to environmental and wildlife conservation.
- Experience in mechanical repairs, welding, or metal fabrication ideal.
- Experience with pool operations is highly regarded.
