About the Role

Our Parks & Gardens Branch are on the hunt for a Parks Irrigation Officer to assist in the planning, management, maintenance and installation of irrigation plumbing and technical systems.
The Branch is responsible for the care, management and operation of a comprehensive network of public open space and recreational areas which have been established for active and passive recreation for the community and the preservation of the natural features of landscape and environment along the Sunshine Coast.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Providing guidance to the Parks and Gardens branch on best practice irrigation asset management across planning, management, maintenance and technical support
- Plan and manage the irrigation upgrade program including undertaking audit reports, budget planning, scoping, procurement, contractor management
- Develop and monitor technical and business reports regarding water use and savings, faults, asset conditions, budget spend, contract management.
- Manage the Hydrawise Smart Irrigation System, program water use and station runtimes to achieve sustainable water management practices,
- Collate and manage irrigation infrastructure data in geospatial software and asset management software to ensure data quality and efficient work programming
About you
As someone passionate about Irrigation systems and the outdoors, who brings a high level of energy you will possess a Certificate in Irrigation Management or similar and have demonstrated experience in planning, managing and maintaining irrigation and irrigation software.
You are a natural leader who can educate and motivate a high-performing and innovative team, you have demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and can complete tasks within set timeframes.
Strong verbal communication skills with ability to communicate effectively, liaise with contractors and deliver informal training sessions
Ability to apply Workplace, Health and Safety practices and procedures and hold a current “C” class drivers licence.
