About the Opportunity
In this role, you will provide crucial administrative support to Council’s Development Services Department. Your primary responsibility will be to assist technical staff by facilitating the assessment of applications and maintaining high levels of customer service for our community and stakeholders. This involves engaging with internal teams and external parties, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, and continuously improving administrative processes.

You will be responsible for liaising with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the assessment of applications received by Council. Providing accurate information to the public, prospective applicants, and developers regarding planning processes under current legislation. Maintaining and administering the NSW Planning Portal and handling other planning administrative duties efficiently, seeking continuous improvement in administrative processes.

Ensuring timely and precise completion of weekly, monthly, and annual reports. Processing Development Applications, Construction Compliance Certificates, and other relevant certificates, correspondence, and documents in line with established procedures and legislative requirements.

What you need to be successful:
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in administrative support roles, preferably within a local government or planning environment. Knowledge of planning fundamentals and familiarity with relevant legislation is advantageous. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with planning software and systems is desirable.
The Successful applicant will need to hold a current driver’s license and provide a satisfactory National Police check.
