We are currently seeking a reliable and organised Part-Time Household Manager to oversee various aspects of the home, including childcare for two children aged 11 and 13, managing basic animal duties for a small hobby farm. This position will form a Job Share partnership with the existing employee looking to transition into part-time.
Responsibilities include picking the children up from school, coordinating household schedules, overseeing maintenance services, grocery shopping, meal planning, taking children to and from activities, staying on top of school-related events, handling basic tasks for our hobby farm, and caring for their pets. Excellent communication and multitasking skills are essential. Also, someone who is reliable, proactive, patient, flexible and able to take initiatives.
Working hours: Preferred Wednesday/Thursday/Friday 11am-7pm (24 hours a week). Occasional late nights when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule Management- Coordinate household activities, appointments, and children’s schedules. Keep track of and transport children to and from various activities.
Household Operations- Oversee maintenance services and repairs for the home. Manage grocery shopping, meal planning, and preparation. Organise household spaces and maintain inventory.
Communication- Serve as a liaison for household-related matters and children's schedules. Stay informed about school activities, events, and deadlines.
Childcare- Provide supervision and support for children's daily routines. Ensure the safety and well-being of the children. Assist children with homework/projects when needed.
Farm Duties & Pet care- Perform basic animal care duties for the hobby farm.
Light Cleaning- Perform light cleaning and tidying as needed.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children.
Basic knowledge of animal care
Valid driver’s license
Non smoker
First aid certificate
Current police check and WWCC (or willing to obtain one)
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
