About The Role
We currently have an open position for a permanent Part-Time Warehouse Assistant to join our team at our florist workspace in Marrickville (2204). We are flexible if you have prior experience, want to have a go in the industry or are looking to step into a more hands-on based role and are motivated to learn and hustle along the way - tell us more detail in your cover letter!

- Wed 6am-11am
- Fri 6am-11am
15hours/week
This is an essential role within the team, as you will be responsible for making sure our warehouse and florists have everything they need to make the team more efficient and operate in an organised, prepped and ready for action way. A high level of pride & time management in your work is a must!
This role will suit someone who has experience in factory work, retail, supermarkets, or any detail-oriented & initiative based physical role. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is quick, physically fit and strong, efficient and very well organised, and is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment working towards deadlines - you will be given autonomy to improve processes and own the role.
You will be helping to organise our warehouse, engage with warehouse unpacking & processing and engage with suppliers and couriers. You will also assist with some light customer service, logistics, stock control and stock take, costing and wastage initiatives, flower prep, watering plants, and general warehouse duties as needed.
Please note: you must be able to regularly lift and move up to 25+ kg boxes & product and capable/licensed to drive an automatic work van.
Your role may include:
- Ensure the smooth running of the warehouse
- Product ordering, tracking & costing (working to compare and reduce overall product costs, supplier communication and relations)
- Market pickup of flower stock when needed (with potential collection/delivery of items if necessary), using our company van (automatic, full license preferred)
- Unpacking & conditioning of flower stock, sundries, product
- Rotating stock & identifying methods for waste reduction & sustainability across the warehouse
- Maintaining general workplaces to ensure clear storage in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
- General day-to-day warehouse upkeep (some cleaning, sorting, preparation, watering, restocking)
- Stocktake
- Learning company logistics & customer service frameworks to assist in process improvement and team support
- Assisting logistics team to strengthen warehouse service/courier relationships
- Assisting in the preparation of orders (adding card messages to flowers, packaging hampers for delivery, preparing plants for delivery) - this can also include some basic floristry bouquets and wrapping if interested down the track
- Additional duties as needed
Experience and Skills Required:
- Current Australian license (confident + able to drive an automatic company van. Full license preferred)
- Ability to follow, analyse and improve systems and procedures
- Exceptional time management skills
- Very well organised with high attention to detail
- Able to work as a positive and helpful team member and both give and receive constructive feedback
- Able to easily lift heavy buckets to and from shelves (up to 25+kg daily)
- General excel & Google Docs knowledge
- Consistent and reliable work ethic
Great to have:
- Knowledge of flowers an advantage but not essential as training will be provided
- Experience with ordering and costing of stock
