About the Opportunity:

As the Pastoral Care Practitioner, you will take a lead role honouring this legacy and in nurturing the commitment of all to the mission and values of St Vincent's Care Toowoomba.

We are looking for compassionate, spiritual and professional persons to work with the Facility Manager and care team to respond effectively to the diverse emotional, spiritual and religious needs of our residents, and their families. Applicants must have a sound understanding of our Mission and a genuine commitment to the service of the aged, vulnerable and poor.

This will be a permanent part time position working 60.8 hours per fortnight, across four days each week.

Things that work for us:

  • Attainment or progress towards Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) qualification, or equivalent; and/or Both tertiary studies in Theology and experience in clinical/care/education environment. (Essential)
  • Relevant experience in a similar pastoral capacity (highly regarded)
  • Tertiary studies in Pastoral Counselling or Mental Health (highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated ability to promote Catholic ethos (highly regarded)
  • Competent technology and computer skills
  • Ability to build rapport, trust, empathy, or strong relationships
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Respect and sensitivity in ministry to persons of various religious, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, Life Philosophies and Faith Traditions
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of Aged Care and resident rights and responsibilities
  • Vaccinated (and maintain up-to-date vaccinations) against Influenza and Covid-19
  • National Police Certificate (within the last 6 months)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
