Job description

We are seeking a passionate Pastoral Carer to join our values based team on a part-time basis at Mercy Place Parkville. The 140 bed residential aged care home offers comprehensive care in a vibrant inner north community, perched on the fringe of Melbourne’s lush parks and gardens precinct. We are looking for a mature, compassionate person to provide spiritual & emotional care to our elderly residents, their families & our staff.

  • Permanent part time role, 2 days /  15 hours per week
  • Deliver high quality pastoral care for residents, families and staff.
  • Respond effectively to the diverse spiritual and religious needs of residents
  • Promote a contemporary understanding of pastoral and spiritual care with residents, families and staff

ABOUT YOU:

  • At least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education or other relevant qualification
  • Theological and/or other relevant graduate qualifications
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to lead a Catholic Communion Service (desirable)

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Candidates are required to meet the position and qualification requirements.
  • Provide a current Police Record Check, NDIS Worker Screen Check and Working with Children Check (Mercy Health may conduct additional background checks subject to current legislation).
  • Proof of vaccination status consistent with public health orders and with Mercy Health’s policy (includes but is not limited to COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccination compliance requirement).
