Patient Flow Assistant (510512)

The role:

As our new Patient Flow Assistant, you'll be working as part of a supportive and patient centred team within the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) Transit Lounge at Royal Hobart Hospital. Your main responsibilities will include;

• Assisting in patient transfers across the campus as needed.
• Undertaking general ward-related duties and housekeeping tasks, which may involve manually or mechanically transferring and positioning patients, providing portage services, performing cleaning duties and terminal cleans, stock control, and attending to all aspects of daily living for patients within the Transit Lounge.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, part time, shift-worker position working 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

• Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $60,666 - $63,222 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

Salary range is in accordance with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:

1. crimes of violence
2. sex related offences
3. serious drug offences
4. crimes involving dishonesty

1. Identification check
2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
