Firesafe Group Pty Ltd is a leading provider of fire protection systems to the Construction, Mining, Resources and Government sectors in both Western Australia, Victoria and Internationally.

Firesafe provide all aspects of fire protection, including Wet fire sprinkler systems, water mist and deluge, Special Hazard Foam and gas suppression systems, and Dry fire alarm and detection systems.

In an effort to constantly improve our payroll processes and overall Accounts Receivable function, we are seeking a dedicated payroll and AR professional who is ready to take on the next challenge in their career and head up our newly formed team. 

As our Payroll & AR Team Leader, you will be the driving force behind our payroll and AR operations.  Your role will focus less on the day-to-day processing, and more on reviewing the work of team members, engaging with senior management and customers, problem solving and implementing ways to enhance overall efficiencies.   This role will suit someone with a passion for communicating with people both internally and externally and ensuring employee/customer queries and concerns are addressed with urgency. Someone with the ability to forge lasting relationships with both senior management and our customers will thrive.

This role would suit someone looking to avoid the hustle and bustle of city life. This role could also eventually provide the opportunity to work from home one or two days per week.

Day to Day

  • Lead and mentor the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll activities
  • Oversee the AR team and improve the AR function and ageing
  • Implement best practices and technological solutions to enhance payroll activity
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, senior managers and other departments to streamline processes and resolve Payroll & AR related issues
  • Stay informed about industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance

Qualifications/Experience

  • National Police Clearance
  • Previous Experience in the Construction / Service & Maintenance Industries
  • Understanding of payroll legislation and processes
  • Ability to interpret awards and relevant legislation
  • Full and unlimited Australian working rights
  • Understanding of relevant awards, agreements, EBAs, and policies.
  • Understanding of Payroll Tax, Superannuation, Workers Compensation,  STP and industry payroll organisations associated with the Construction industry such as MyLeave
  • Understanding of Accounts Receivable function and systems
