My client is currently looking for an experienced Payroll and Benefits Advisor to join the team on a contract until September 2024 (with the potential to extend beyond this). The office is located in the Liverpool CBD with working from home available 2 days per week.
In this position you will be responsible for assisting the Coordinator Pay, Benefits & Systems and Senior Payroll & Benefits Advisor with the delivery of day-to-day payroll operations & payroll services in accurate and timely manner.
Daily Duties
- Undertaking complex payroll calculations and transactions
- Generate timely preparation of payroll related data, statistics and reports and develop adhoc reporting when required
- Assist with Award increases, FBT adjustments, payment summary generation
- Provide efficient and effective delivery of end-to-end payroll processing
- Assist the Coordinator Pay, Benefits & Systems and Senior Payroll & Benefits Advisor in coordinating day-to-day work within the pay & Benefits team, prioritising key actions and activities to achieve business plan outcomes, including appropriate strategies to meet peak workloads.
- Assist with complex payroll back pay calculations, garnishee and legal correspondence
- Provide a responsive, accurate client advisory service on payroll matters, resolve difficult enquiries and assist in identifying payroll errors and implementing corrective action where required
- Apply knowledge and experience in calculating termination pays
- Assist with parental leave applications, calculations, documentation and reconciliations
- Process workers compensation payments
- Assist with the compliance of efficient payroll delivery by applying internal controls, audit trails, policies, procedures, ATO requirements, superannuation and other payroll legislation to the payroll process
Experience/ Knowledge and Skills
- Substantial end to end payroll experience including new starter to terminations, superannuation, workers compensation and employee entitlements.
- Experience using Aurion and a working knowledge of Local Government Awards will be highly desirable.
- Prioritising and multitasking work in order to meet strict fortnightly payroll deadlines.
- Demonstrated accuracy and numeracy with strong analytical & reconciliation skills and attention to detail.
- High level of computer literacy and competence in Microsoft Office Programs, including Excel (pivot tables, formulas & data manipulation) Word, Outlook and working with computerised payroll databases systems.
